Once somebody has a record, and has gone to prison, a lot of door close for that person. Eric discusses ways to open those doors back up so convicted ex-convicts can become successful contributing members of society. Cutting ‘failure to appear’ fines, no jail time after first outstanding warrant for non-violent crimes, breaking the cycle of jail time due to lack of resources to pay fines, capping misdemeanor fines at the state level.
